4 Steps to grooming confidence
You know you should be grooming your pet – but it’s hard to know how often to do it, and whether you’re doing it the right way. FURminator® is here to help.
The FURminator® Ultimate Hair Reduction System has been designed to help you reduce pet hair in your home the easy way. Our simple 4-step system makes it easy to remember how often to groom, deshed and bathe your pet, and even helps with getting rid of those pesky Shedlings® around your home.
STEP 1: Groom daily
Grooming, or brushing through your pet’s fur to remove loose hair and debris, should be done every day.
Pick a regular time within your pet’s daily routine – in the evening when the home is quieter works well – and dedicate a few minutes per day to gently brushing their coat. This will help to remove any mats or tangles in their fur, as well as any loose hair or other dirt they have picked up.
Many pets love being groomed, so it’s a nice relaxing time for them, and it can also help you to relax and de-stress! If your pet isn’t so keen on grooming, we’ve got some helpful tips on how to gently introduce a grooming routine.
There are many different types of brushes and combs, so you’ll be sure to find one that’s just right for your pet.

STEP 2: Deshed weekly
DeShedding is different from grooming because it is the practice of removing the dead undercoat which has built up on your pet. Undercoat shedding is responsible for most of the fur you’ll find around your home, as well as a cause of hairballs in cats.
The undercoat keeps your pet warm underneath the sleek and water-resistant top layer. It falls out naturally and should be removed regularly with a specially designed deShedding tool in order to reduce the amount of fur your pet sheds.

STEP 3: Bathe monthly
All pets will need to have a bath at some point, though some are better natural groomers than others. It also depends upon how active your pet is and how much time they spend outdoors.
We recommend bathing your pet on a monthly basis. This should keep them clean and avoid over-washing, which can cause their skin to become dry and irritated.
FURminator®’s range of pet shampoos and conditioners have been specially formulated to be gentle on your pet’s skin and coat. They contain no parabens or artificial colours and are designed to help reduce shedding.

STEP 4: Discard as needed
Even when you groom your pet regularly, you might still have some pet hair around your home to deal with.
With FURminator®’s hair collection tools, you’ll never have to buy another lint roller or remove pet hair with sticky tape again. Our innovative and reusable tools allow you to pick up pet hair quickly and easily by rolling over the area you want to clean. One twist of a handle and the hair will be trapped cleanly, ready for you to discard straight into the bin.
