Please read all instructions and FAQs carefully before beginning your grooming. Use the FURminator® Dual Grooming Brush only as directed.
Step 1
To brush your dog, find a calm time and location to sit down with your pet for grooming. Gently stroke across the pet’s coat in the direction of hair growth. Start from your dog’s head and work your way back, using extra care near stomach, legs, genitals and anus. Avoid making excessive strokes in a single area, as this may cause irritation of your dog’s fur and skin. Brush until all debris is removed from the dog’s fur, tangles are removed, and all areas of fur have been brushed.
Step 2
Grooming is a good time to perform a complete physical inspection of your dog. As you brush your dog, look for sores, bruises and skin conditions, which your dog's coat may conceal. If your dog has any of these conditions, seek treatment from a veterinarian before resuming brushing.

Frequently asked questions
The boar’s hair bristle (soft bristle) side is an excellent all round brush that can be used on dogs and cats with most coat types, removing debris or finishing the coat with a natural shine and smoothness. The metal bristle (hard bristle) side works well with long pet coats and best for detangling, removing debris and massaging the pet’s skin.
Your pet can be brushed any time, on both wet and dry fur. Brushing can be performed on its own or in conjunction with other products, such as FURminator® deShedding Shampoo. Brushing is also an important step to perform before using a FURminator® deShedding tool on your pet to remove tangles and matted hair.
For best results, use the FURminator® Dual Grooming Brush daily for 5-10 minutes each session, though the actual time will vary depending on your pet’s breed, the condition of its coat, and the thickness of the pet’s individual coat. It may be necessary to use the dual sided brush tool more frequently during heavy shedding seasons or if the pet has excessive debris or tangles.
Grooming your pet will loosen large amounts of loose hair and debris, so a location that is easy to clean, such as a tile floor indoors or an outdoor area, makes cleanup more convenient. Most importantly, always choose a location where your pet feels comfortable and safe.
